Repeat Prescriptions
Please follow the guidelines and choose the right option for you.
Please allow 48 hours (2 full working days) for prescriptions to be processed unless your items are out of authorisation or any alterations requested.
If so these will take 72 hours (3 working days) to process, and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account. See our events and closures page to learn more.
We do not accept repeat prescription requests over the phone.
Ordering a Repeat Prescription
When you order a prescription online, you can have it sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. This is called a nomination.

About pharmacists

They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.
In Person
You can order in person by returning the right-hand half of a previous prescription for the required medications by drop your repeat form off in the prescription box by reception.
Or, you can submit a handwritten request. You may also write out an order for someone else. You must include the patient's name, date of birth and requested medication.
Medication Queries
Please get in touch with the surgery to raise a query about your medication.
Information about medications is also available on the NHS website
Repeat Prescription Reviews
A review of your repeat medication will be necessary at intervals. We have tried to streamline the repeats process so that we do not rely on computer generated reminders.
How it Works
When your prescription is due for review please put in your prescription as normal. A doctor will look at your records and will then decide how best to carry out the review.
You will receive a text message which may suggest, for example:
- you arrange to have a blood test
- you see a GP
- you see a practice nurse
- you arrange a telephone appointment
This should ensure that you are only called for review when necessary and that all the blood tests necessary are carried out before, not after, the appointment.
We take medication safety seriously, so if you don't have your review in the time specified you may not receive your prescription.
Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
When going aborad you can take your NHS medications with you.
Please visit the NHS website for the latest Prescription Charges
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
